Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. She also sings. She was raised by her mother in the USA. Raised with racial remarks and being made to feel unwelcome. Her confidence began to grow at the age of nineteen when she appeared in an audition and was highly praised by the judges for her vocal ability. Not only did it boost her confidence but her dreams were changed. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from the Julliard School in New York. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. Her biggest breakthrough was when she played the role of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway show Spamalot garnering not only her the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. She gained more recognition when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. An accomplished singer, she's also produced songs as well as an extended piece. She has also been a vocal advocate for LGBT concerns.
